A pre-trip mechanical inspection is a full mechanical inspection that includes checking all fluids and looking over all parts of the vehicle. Any signs of wear/ issues will be reported back to the customer with recommendations. This also includes a comprehensive brake and suspension test on the SafeTstop; the SafeTstop is the industry Gold Standard in assessing brakes!

We also offer a quick Weigh-Bridge & Weight Distribution option on our SafeTstop. This is where you can pack your vehicle with everything you intend to take on your trip and then bring it to us for a test-drive over our SafeTstop.  This will accurately weigh the weight distribution at each wheel.  Often customers find that if they have a dual battery set-up as well as a camp fridge, then this extra weight needs to be evenly distributed to ensure your 4WD still drives and brakes effectively. The SafeTstop lets us check this weight as well as your braking capacity with your vehicle fully loaded.

A post-trip mechanical inspection for 4WDs is a comprehensive check of the vehicle’s mechanical and structural components to ensure that they are functioning correctly and safely after being used off-road. This includes checking the tires, wheels, suspension, brakes, steering, and drivetrain for wear and damage. Additionally, the fluid levels, filters, and belts are checked and replaced if necessary. The inspection also includes a thorough examination of the undercarriage and body for any signs of damage or wear that may have occurred during off-road use. The purpose of this inspection is to ensure that the vehicle is safe to drive and that any issues that may have arisen during off-road use are identified and addressed in a timely manner.

In conclusion, a pre and post-trip mechanical inspection for 4WDs is essential for any serious off-road driver. The pre-trip inspection ensures that the vehicle is in top condition before embarking on a long or remote trip, while the post-trip inspection checks for any wear or damage that may have occurred during off-road use. The use of SafeTstop allows for a comprehensive brake and suspension test, as well as accurate weight distribution check when the vehicle is fully loaded. By conducting these inspections, you can have peace of mind that your vehicle is safe to drive and any issues will be identified and addressed in a timely manner, ensuring a successful and enjoyable off-road experience.
